Georgia’s GDP amounted to GEL 28.1 billion at current prices in the second quarter of 2026, while real GDP growth reached 6.9% year-on-year, according to detailed data released by Geostat.
Among 20 sectors tracked by Geostat, the highest growth rate, 29%, was recorded in household activities. However, the sector accounted for only GEL 21.5 million, or 0.08% of the economy, and therefore had no significant impact on overall economic growth.
Transport and storage ranked second, with growth of 19.8% and an economic output of GEL 1.57 billion. Arts, entertainment and recreation, which includes the gambling industry, ranked third, growing 17.4% with an output of GEL 1.1 billion.
According to Geostat, three sectors recorded declines rather than growth during the quarter: construction, agriculture, and other services.
