Georgia’s average monthly salary increased by 8.9% year-on-year, reaching GEL 2,364 in the first quarter of 2026, according to data released by Geostat. This represents an increase of GEL 194 compared to the same period last year. After income tax, the net average salary stands at GEL 1,891.
The highest-paying sectors remain finance and insurance (GEL 5,952), information and communication (GEL 4,290), mining and quarrying (GEL 3,230), and professional, scientific and technical activities (GEL 3,186).
Geostat also reported a gender gap in wages. In Q1 2026, the average salary for women was GEL 1,901.8, while for men it stood at GEL 2,836. Both figures increased by around 9% year-on-year, but men’s salaries remained significantly higher across nearly all sectors.
