In January-July 2021, Azerbaijan imported 47,374 cars worth $474.6 million (respectively, up 70.5% and 39.2% from the same period last year), Report informs, referring to State Customs Committee.
According to the Committee, the number of cars with a seating capacity of ten or more seats dropped by 36.6% to 64 ($ 5.1 million), and the number of passenger cars and other motor vehicles rose by 69.4% to 44,048 ($413.7 million).
Of these, 5,879 ($36 million) are electric-powered vehicles with internal combustion engines, and 44 ($1.5 million) are electric-powered vehicles only.
It means a 2.4-fold increase in the first and a 2.4-fold decrease in the second.
Meanwhile, vehicles for cargo transportation grew by 98% to 3,198 ($47.9 million), and special vehicles dropped by 16.9% to 64 ($7.9 million).
