Azerbaijan Ready To Engage In Infrastructure Projects, Including Anaklia Port And Kulevi - Ilham Aliyev

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, during the briefing with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili,  discussed joint energy and transport projects, emphasizing the commitment to deepen cooperation in these areas.

“We are doing everything today to ensure energy security in different countries, and we are cooperating and deepening cooperation in this regard. This is part of our agenda, and we are very happy to participate and willing to participate in infrastructure projects that were discussed, be it the Anaklia port or any other direction,” stated President Aliyev.

He highlighted the potential expansion of the Kulevi port, which Azerbaijan owns on the Black Sea coast in Georgia, as a means to further strengthen cooperation. President Aliyev emphasized the commitment to increasing the performance of the Baku-Tbilisi railway by five times, marking a significant component in the development of the Middle Corridor.

Regarding energy, President Aliyev mentioned the collaboration on green energy projects and the ongoing technical-economic study that will soon be completed. He expressed confidence in achieving tangible results in the form of planned investments that will contribute to the energy security of Georgia, Azerbaijan, and partner countries.

“All these projects implemented in Georgia, Azerbaijan, and our partner countries are of vital importance, not only for the South Caucasus but also for the Eurasian continent. Our political will is very strong. By using and expanding existing infrastructure, by developing our friendship and strategic partnership, we will be able to achieve it,” President Aliyev affirmed.
