President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on the occasion of Georgia’s Independence Day, emphasizing the strong and deepening ties between the two countries.
In his message, Aliyev extended his heartfelt congratulations on behalf of himself and the Azerbaijani people, noting the historical friendship, good-neighbourliness, and mutual support that form the foundation of Azerbaijan-Georgia relations.

The foundation of Azerbaijan–Georgia interstate relations rests on the strong will of our peoples, who have historically lived in an atmosphere of friendship, good neighbourliness, and mutual support. We are pleased to see that our relationship, rooted in these enduring traditions, continues to grow and deepen across all areas of cooperation.
The active and consistent political dialogue between our countries plays a key role in enriching our partnership with new dimensions. Your recent visit to Azerbaijan, along with our regular interactions on international platforms, stands as clear evidence of the dynamic and evolving nature of our bilateral ties.
The major infrastructure projects jointly implemented by Azerbaijan and Georgia—such as the Southern Gas Corridor, the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan oil pipeline, and the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway—open up new opportunities for our nations and peoples. These projects make a significant contribution to our shared prosperity, regional stability, and cooperation. Our joint efforts in the energy sector are also reshaping the energy map of Europe and play an essential role in strengthening the continent’s energy security.
