Bank lending in Georgia rises by GEL 1.3 billion to GEL 75 billion in June

The volume of loans issued by Georgian banks reached GEL 75.43 billion at the end of June 2026, increasing by GEL 1.30 billion (1.75%) compared with the previous month, according to statistics published by the National Bank of Georgia. Excluding exchange rate effects, the monthly growth stood at 2.41%.

The annual growth rate of the loan portfolio, adjusted for exchange rate effects, amounted to 14.47%. In June, lending in the national currency increased by GEL 985.05 million (2.29%), while foreign currency loans grew by GEL 311.13 million (1.00%).

Loans to resident legal entities totaled GEL 32.83 billion at the end of June, including GEL 11.41 billion in lari-denominated loans and GEL 21.42 billion in foreign currency loans. Lending to resident households increased by GEL 701.19 million (1.78%) during the month, reaching GEL 40.11 billion.

The loan dollarization ratio stood at 58.37% at the end of June, up 0.31 percentage points from the previous month. Excluding exchange rate effects, the ratio decreased by 0.07 percentage points, according to the central bank’s data.
