Batumi is set to have a new international-standard ice palace and swimming pool-Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze familiarized himself with the details of this project scheduled to kick off in the nearest future.
A tender competition has been announced, and relevant work is underway, on the procurement of construction work for an indoor sports complex incorporating an ice palace and a swimming pool.
An ice rink and two swimming pools will be built in line with Olympic standards. The ice rink will host the 2025 Youth Winter Olympic Festival.
A rhythmic gymnastics arena has been added to the initially planned ice palace, and the size of the main swimming pool will be increased from 33 to 50 meters.
After the completion of this large-scale project, Batumi will enjoy a new 1,500-seat ice palace and an 800-seat swimming pool meeting modern standards.
