US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has arrived in Jordan’s capital Amman, where he will meet Jordan’s King Abdullah and Mahmoud Abbas, head of the Palestinian Authority in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, as part of a Middle East tour.
Blinken arrived in Israel on Thursday to show US support. He extended his trip to Israel and Jordan to include Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt.
Blinken will reiterate his “condemnation of the terrorist attacks in Israel in the strongest terms,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement, adding the secretary “will also reaffirm the United States’ solidarity with the government and people of Israel,” Al Jazeera reports.
