During the Armenian government meeting on April 18, an agreement between the country and the European Commission on financing a project to strengthen stability was approved. The total cost of the project is 15 million euros.
This project will be financed from the budget of the European Union within the framework of the Neighborhood, Development, and International Cooperation Instrument. Armenia does not plan to co-finance this project.
According to the agreement, support will be directed towards several key tasks. First and foremost, it includes assistance to the government in implementing programs to meet the urgent needs of refugees, including providing them with one-time multifunctional financial assistance.
Additionally, the program envisages ensuring socio-economic stability in the medium term, including covering the expenses of refugees for electricity and providing them with housing.
According to official information, negotiations are currently underway on possible additional funding for the program. It is planned to allocate another 15 million euros in addition to the already allocated 15 million euros. It is expected that this process will be completed by the end of 2024.
