According to Geostat, last year, in 11 months, the country purchased 6,106 tons of buckwheat worth $2.7 million. While in 2023, in the same period, it imported 7,670 tons of buckwheat worth $4.4 million.
Georgia purchases buckwheat entirely from Russia. Russia accounts for 99.98% of buckwheat imported to Georgia. In 2024, in 11 months, the country purchased 6,104 tons of buckwheat from this market.
A small amount, a total of 1.45 tons of buckwheat, was imported from Poland and Italy.
