In 2Q2022 compared to the same quarter of previous year the volume of business sector turnover increased by 19.2% and amounted to 41.7 billion GEL. The production value of the business sector is characterized by the increasing tendency. In the 2Q2022, its volume equaled to GEL 16.5 billion, which is year-on-year 25.3% more, - according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In 2Q2022, 61.5% of total turnover comes on large and 17.5% – on medium businesses while 21.1% is distributed to small business. A small difference is in case of total production value: 48% comes on large, 23.5% – on medium and 28.5% on small businesses.
In 2Q 2022, the trade sector (including repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles) has the highest share (38.5%) in the total turnover in the business sector, followed by arts, entertainment and recreation with 28% share, manufacturing – 10.3%, construction – 5.7%, transportation and storage – 5.3%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply – 3.3% and other sectors with 8.9% share.
