According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), as of 12:00 p.m., 602,445 voters had cast their ballots, with a voter turnout of 17.15%.
CEC spokesperson Natia Ioseliani provided an update at a press briefing, stating that the voting process is proceeding in a calm environment.
“Before sharing the turnout figures, I would like to draw attention to information that has just come to our attention — citizens are receiving phone calls allegedly on behalf of the CEC, asking whether they have participated in the elections. This appears to be preparation for various provocative statements made in the CEC’s name. We categorically state that no such calls have been made by the election administration. It seems certain individuals are deliberately using the CEC’s name to discredit the institution and are attempting to mislead voters through such manipulations. We call on everyone not to misuse the CEC’s name or harm the electoral environment.
Now, regarding voter activity — as of 12:00 p.m., 602,445 voters have visited polling stations. The highest turnout has been recorded in the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region. We also inform you that, as of now, no complaints have been filed with the district election commissions,” said Natia Ioseliani.
