The Kobuleti City Council has approved a detailed development plan that paves the way for the expansion of “Chateau Kvirike” with the construction of hotel-type apartments.

According to the September 16 resolution, the project covers an 11,452 sq.m. area located on Davit Meskhidze Street, adjacent to the existing “Chateau Kvirike” hotel.

Earlier this year, in March, “Chateau Kvirike” LLC announced plans to invest GEL 100 million. The investment will fund the construction of a 300-room aparthotel alongside the existing chateau, as well as an expansion of its wine production capacity.

The Georgian government has already sold the company a 13,000 sq.m. land plot under an investment obligation, valued at 819,800 GEL. According to the government decree, the company must build both a hotel and wine production facilities on the site within three years, requiring a minimum investment of GEL 2 million.

“Chateau Kvirike” was founded in 1999 and launched its first major tourist facility in Kobuleti in 2021, despite pandemic-related challenges.

The company is fully owned by Giorgi Chkonia, while the management of 100% of shares is entrusted to Jimsher Zoidze.
