The Georgian government will directly sell 2 land plots in Kobuleti to Chateau Kvirike for 819,800 thousand GEL. The relevant decree was published on the government website on March 6.
According to the document, a total of 13 hectares of land in the city of Kobuleti and the village of Nakaidzeebi in Kobuleti municipality will be transferred to Chateau Kvirike with an investment obligation. The company must pay half of the privatization amount within 12 months, and the full amount within 2 years from the signing of the agreement.
In addition, Chateau Kvirike must build and operate a hotel-type residential building and an alcoholic beverage enterprise at the aforementioned locations in Kobuleti within 3 years. The company must invest 2 million GEL, which does not include VAT. The government assigned the National Agency for State Property, a public legal entity under the Ministry of Economy, to implement the measures envisaged by this decree.
According to the business register, company “Chateau Kvirike” was founded in 1999. A tourist facility in Kobuleti under the same brand was opened in 2021 during the pandemic. According to the information presented on the company’s website, “Chateau Kvirike” is a holiday hotel complex built on 6 hectares. Kiwi and hazelnut orchards, as well as various grape varieties, are planted on 2 hectares of the territory. The rest of the territory is occupied by the main hotel building with 23 rooms, a private villa, an outdoor pool, and 15 cottages located around it, which are named after different parts of Georgia.
