Revaz Vashakidze, founder and managing partner of Chirina, has wished success to Kvarelis Baga, after Georgia’s Supreme Court ordered his company to pay GEL 1.6 million in damages. “I wish Kvarelis Baga as much milk and revenue as possible,” Vashakidze told the TV program Tsetili.
Kvarelis Baga had initially sought GEL 4.7 million in damages, alleging that chicken manure purchased from Chirina contained antibiotics, which caused cattle deaths and spoiled milk. Chirina maintained that the product had been sold as fertilizer rather than animal feed.
The dispute went through all three levels of court. On July 16, 2026, the Supreme Court upheld the appellate court’s decision awarding GEL 1.6 million in damages, rejecting both sides’ requests in full. Vashakidze said Chirina transferred the full amount within about a week of the ruling.
Vashakidze said he considered the court’s decision unobjective and unsubstantiated and plans to ask the High Council of Justice to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the judges, as well as law enforcement authorities to investigate alleged signs of wrongdoing. At the same time, he said he has no further claims against Kvarelis Baga and would be open to continuing business cooperation if the company is interested.
