In January-August 2023, chocolate and cocoa-containing food product exports from Georgia hit a record high. Products of 586 tons USD 2 million 789 thousand worth were exported from Georgia.
According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, chocolate exports have increased by 76% compared to the previous year. However, it should be noted that the share of local exports in the exporting figure is only 31%, and the remaining 69% accounts for re-exports.
The main exporting market for Georgia is Armenia, which accounts for 46% of total exports.
