The expansion projects of City Mall Saburtalo and Gldani Mall are expected to be completed by 2027, according to IG Development, the company that owns the shopping centers.
Financial Director Lasha Kakhishvili stated that the Saburtalo Mall expansion will be implemented in two stages, with the first phase completed by 2027.
The expansion will double the leasable area of both malls, with a total investment of $200 million. Currently, both facilities are fully occupied, and the expansion will allow the introduction of new international and local brands.
“The Gldani Mall expansion began in January 2025. The leasable area will double to 50,000 sq. m, along with the number of brands. The Saburtalo expansion started a month ago and will reach 110,000 sq. m, hosting over 1,000 brands. We are bringing in brands not yet available in Georgia and are negotiating actively. We expect both projects to be fully launched by 2027,” said Kakhishvili.
He added that due to its larger scale, Saburtalo Mall’s expansion will be completed in two phases, with the second phase scheduled about 18 months after the first.
The projects are set to significantly enhance the retail landscape in Tbilisi, attracting more brands and improving shopping experiences for customers.
