IG Development Georgia, the company behind City Mall Saburtalo and Gldani Mall, has announced plans to expand its presence to regional cities, with projects already in motion in Kutaisi and Batumi. According to the company’s financial director, Lasha Kakhishvili, the regional developments will follow the completion of Tbilisi expansions by 2027.
“We are actively working on the regions. Land has already been acquired in Kutaisi, and the project is currently at the design stage. City Mall in Kutaisi will be a modern gathering place and a very successful project. In Batumi, the project is also in the design stage. Once Tbilisi’s expansions are finished, we will focus on the regions,” Kakhishvili said on the Business Morning program.
In Tbilisi, the Gldani Mall expansion, launched in January 2025, will double the mall’s leasable area to 50,000 square meters, while City Mall Saburtalo is set to reach 110,000 square meters. The expansions are part of a broader strategy to strengthen IG Development’s presence in the capital before moving into regional markets.
The total investment for both Tbilisi projects is estimated at USD 250 million, reflecting the company’s commitment to modern retail infrastructure and large-scale commercial development across Georgia.
