Erekle Loladze, the founder of Mouth Melters, a local chocolate manufacturer, told BM.GE that cocoa prices increased by 30% for the company compared to the previous year due to the shortage in the market. According to him, the company imports cocoa from Belgium.
"There were some challenges in the direction of purchasing cocoa, because the purchase price has increased by 30% compared to the previous year. Prices have increased by 100% compared to 2019. At this stage, due to the fact that we had reserves, we have maintained the prices. However, in the next 2 months, we might have some changes in the direction of prices.
We make exports from Belgium. Probably, from the beginning of next year, the prices of raw materials may return to the same level or the prices may have a tendency to decrease," Loladze said.
The chocolate workshop is located near the city of Mtskheta. The founders of the company invested GEL 60,000. At this stage, about 7 people are employed in the enterprise.
