Competition Agency Signed A commitment Agreement In Favor Of The Consumer With WWW.Dressup.GE

The Georgian National Competition Agency signed a commitment agreement with the company www.dressup.ge in favor of the consumer. The case concerns the alleged violation of the Law of Georgia on the Protection of Consumer Rights.


In accordance with the agreement signed between the Agency and the trader, the trader was instructed to:

- To change the company’s internal policy and comply with the requirements of the law;


- Comprehensibly and fully provide the information to a consumer defined by the law in the national language of Georgia;


- To provide a clear and understandable indication of the selling price of the goods;


- To post the information necessary for the consumer on the trading website www.dressup.ge and on all platforms where the trader implement commercial activities;


- To establish clear guarantee conditions in accordance with the law.


- To develop the conditions for the withdrawal from the contract and the procedure for introducing it to the consumers.


- To restore the rights of those consumers who allegedly suffered damages due to the non-fulfilment of the obligations defined by the law.


Dressup Group has been operating in the clothing, footwear and accessories trade sector in Georgia since 1994 and offers consumers mono-brand and multi-brand stores of about 100 different names.


In accordance with the signed commitment agreement, the trader is obliged to submit evidence of the fulfilled obligations to the Agency within 1 month.

In the direction of the protection of consumer rights, from November 2022 – to September 2023, the National Competition Agency has received 401 applications and a case study has been started on 227 applications. In the mentioned period, the Competition Agency signed 72 commitment agreements in favor of the consumer on 110 cases. The 27 facts of violations of the rights of the consumer group were confirmed -in 41 cases, and in 5 cases were not confirmed.

Due to non-fulfillment of the obligation imposed by the Agency, 4 traders were fined in 15 cases.
