Levan Karalashvili, executive director of the "Georgian Reconstruction and Development Company" declares, that the logistics hub, which construction was announced last year, has not yet started.
The point is that last year, investments in trade decreased from USD 91 million to USD 40 million. There were a total of 2 sectors where investments have increased, one sector was energy, while the other was the real estate sector, where USD 19.4 million of investments came instead of USD 14.2 million of the previous year.
"Construction of logistics hub, announced last year, has not yet started. I hope that this project will be implemented in some form. And the current projects, which are in the process of maintaining the status quo, means that these businesses are stable from an operational point of view, but there will be no talk of any expansion in these projects. There was quite a good trend in terms of job creation when we were talking about European integration. Actually, the "Russian law" puts all under threat", said the executive director of the "Reconstruction and Development Company of Georgia".
According to him, there should be clear signals from the government to tell the partners that Georgia does not deviate from the European path.
