“I had no agreement with Trump that he was supposed to call me. ‘Contact’ does not mean ‘a phone call,’” said Georgian Dream’s elected president Mikheil Kavelashvili in an interview with journalists.
According to him, during his visit to the United States, Donald Trump told him that he would “definitely return to the issue of renewing relations.”

Radical-wing television channels, parties, and NGOs have been deceiving the public, claiming it was fake news — that the President of Georgia was not invited, that Kavelashvili’s image was edited into the photo, that there was no meeting or conversation, and so on.
The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, was indeed invited to the meeting with Donald Trump, where he had the opportunity to speak with the U.S. President. The message I shared with the public afterward was true. [Donald Trump] told me he would definitely return to the issue of renewing our relations.
