APM Terminals Poti has released its operational results for the first nine months of 2026, showing growth at Poti Sea Port in container, general and ferry cargo.
The highest monthly figure of the year was recorded in July, when the port handled 65,759 TEU containers. The number of container ships arriving at the port also increased significantly.
In the first nine months of 2026, Poti Port received 336 container ships, compared with 268 ships in the same period of 2025. In September alone, the port served 45 container ships.
Particularly strong growth was recorded in general cargo. During the first nine months of 2026, the port handled 324,656 tonnes of general cargo, a 61.7% increase year-on-year.
Positive momentum was also maintained in ferry transportation. During the reporting period, the volume of cargo carried by ferry vessels amounted to 162,843 tonnes, compared with 123,350 tonnes in the first nine months of 2025.
APM Terminals Poti noted that the statistics once again confirm the growing role of Georgia’s largest port and the importance of regional trade corridors.
“APM Terminals Poti is Georgia’s largest seaport and serves as an important logistics hub in the region. The company continues to develop its operations and improve service quality, contributing to the growth of the country’s trade and transit capabilities,” the company said in a statement.
At the government meeting, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that the total volume of cargo handled at Georgia’s seaports and terminals reached 15.4 million tonnes over nine months, representing a 24% increase.
