The contractor will cover the cost of repairing local deformations on the third section of the Samtredia-Grigoleti road (km30–km42) under the warranty, Infrastructure Minister Revaz Sokhadze said.
Sokhadze said road projects are regularly monitored and contractors are required to correct defects at their own expense. Traffic on the section is restricted in both directions until September 25.
Drivers are being redirected via the Lesa interchange, Samtredia-Lanchkhuti-Grigoleti road, Khajalia interchange and Khajalia-Supsa road.
The third section was fully opened on July 18, 2026. China’s Hunan Road & Bridge Construction Group carried out the project under a GEL324.6 million contract. The latest defects have prompted another temporary closure.
