Tako Partsvania, an operator of the tourist company Ok Travel, talks to BM.GE about the trends of the current year and states that the price of tourist packages has increased by about 20% this year.
According to her, the major share of bookings accounts for Turkey, Cyprus and Greece. In addition, Asia is also active, but bookings in this direction are relatively small compared to those countries.
"Depending on the season, the major share of summer bookings account for Turkey, namely Antalya, Kusadasi and Bodrum. As for Istanbul tour packages for the Tulip Festival are almost completed. Cyprus and Greece are also active, as well as Asia. At this stage, only 20% of summer bookings account for those countries, although we expect bookings to increase this year.
As for the prices, travel costs have increased by about 20% this year. For example, the cost of a week's vacation in Turkey, in an average 5-star hotel, starts from GEL 2000. However, because the sector is unpredictable, the price might be reduced under the various promotion campaigns", says Partsvania.
The operator of the tourist company also talks about the challenges and notes that Wizziar, which has to take Boeings and planes for inspection, has created some problems for the company. In particular, the airline company changed the dates or even removed some destinations.
