The Administrative Court of Armenia has invalidated the sharp increase in parking fees in Yerevan, which had raised the hourly rate in the city center to $0.76 and the annual pass to $406 as of January 1, 2024. However, the mayor's office intends to appeal the decision.

Hayk Kostanyan, the spokesperson for the mayor of Yerevan, emphasized that the court's ruling has not yet come into effect and that the municipality will exercise its right to file an appeal within a month. He also noted that payments already made under the new rates are non-refundable.

Under the disputed decision by the Council of Elders, the city was divided into two zones. In the central "A" zone, parking costs $0.76 per hour, $5 per day, $13 per week, $46 per month, and $406 per year. The "B" zone features lower rates: $0.51 per hour and $2.50 per day, with an annual pass priced at $61.

It is noted that until the court’s final decision and the conclusion of the appeal process, the new parking rates remain in effect across the capital.
