In order to prevent the legalization of illegal income in the customs territory of Georgia, the import/export of cash and securities are subject to strict customs control by the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance.
As reported by the Revenue Service, an undeclared amount of USD 51,000 (164 959.5 GEL) was found during the inspection of a mail belonging to a citizen of Georgia A.N.
Under Part 3 of Article 169 of the Customs Code, a fine was imposed on the offending citizen in the form of a sanction - in the amount of 10% of the undeclared amount - GEL 16,495.95.
