Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, David Songulashvili, met with Jondo Shubitidze, General Director of RMG, to review issues related to mineral resource reports, licensing, and environmental regulations. The meeting focused on ensuring that the company complies with the requirements of the Environmental Liability Law while continuing its operations.
According to the ministry, the discussion emphasized the importance of balancing economic activity with environmental responsibility. “Large companies make a significant contribution to the development of the country's economy, therefore, supporting their activities is very important, however, we must also take into account that all this should be done at the expense of minimal negative impact on the environment,” Songulashvili said.
Shubitidze expressed appreciation for the ministry’s cooperation, noting that joint efforts have helped RMG make significant progress in fulfilling environmental requirements. The company highlighted its commitment to implementing measures that reduce ecological impact and comply with legal standards.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Kakha Kakabadze, RMG’s Director for Environmental Protection Mikheil Kvaratskhelia, and Deputy Director for Environmental Protection Aleksandre Devidze, reflecting the ongoing collaboration between the private sector and government in promoting sustainable industrial practices.
