According to the Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili, the double-digit economic growth is also reflected in the employment rate.
As of Geostat, the estimated real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate amounted to 11.0 percent YoY for December 2022 and 10.1 percent in 2022 compared to previous year.
"It is noteworthy that the turnover of VAT-taxpayer enterprises increased by more than 18% in December, which naturally reflected on tax revenues as well. In January, 2022, a 30% increase in tax revenues has been observed. For the second year, double-digit economic growth has been recorded in Georgia. Last year, an important contributor was the significant increase in exports, which increased by more than 30%, and also the recovery of tourism, which exceeded the figure of 2019 by about 7-8%. Naturally, the mentioned indicators are reflected on the employment rate as well," said the Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili.
