The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will finance the construction of two customs and logistics centers and the reconstruction of a border checkpoint in Armenia.
This agreement was reached during a meeting between the Head of Armenia's State Revenue Committee, Rustam Badasyan, and the EBRD’s new Managing Director for Turkey and the Caucasus, Elisabetta Falcetti.
According to the Armenian State Revenue Committee’s press office, the projects include the construction of a customs and logistics center in Sisian, valued at €12 million, and a similar facility in Yerevan at €45 million. An additional €23.5 million will be allocated for the reconstruction and modernization of the Meghri (Agarak) border checkpoint.
Since beginning its activities in Armenia, the EBRD has financed 211 projects totaling over €2.12 billion.
The bank’s primary focus has been on the private sector, receiving 92% of all investments, in line with the EBRD's strategy to support business development within the country.
