Non-formal education space Re:School claims that the effects of the current events in the country have already been reflected in their sector. The company’s founder, Salome Mgeladze, spoke to BM.GE about this.
According to her, the year started successfully for the company and more than 300 students were accepted for courses. However, recent developments have caused serious problems for their customers with regard to payments.
“2024 started quite successfully. A lot of young people registered for our courses. We accepted more than 300 students. However, recent developments have caused serious problems for our customers with regard to payments in the last 2-3 months. We have given discounts to many, some continue their studies for free, however, given that we are a business, we cannot teach everyone for free. Our field is education, and this field is hit by the economic crisis later than other fields. Nevertheless, it has already been reflected on Re:School. As I mentioned, people are having a hard time paying their bills.
We wanted to add new groups back in November and December. As you know, there is a very high demand for technological education, but we postponed accepting new groups. However, I have no idea what the reality will be like and how much the consumer will be able to pay. Therefore, we cannot make long-term plans. Now we are thinking about retaining those students who are already studying and are in economic hardship due to the ongoing political processes," says Salome Mgeladze.
