Economic Evaluation Of Adopted Regulations Should Be Done Gradually - Levan Vepkhvadze

The executive director of the Georgian Business Association deeply believes that the government should make an economic evaluation of the regulations adopted in various fields.

As Levan Vepkhvadze told BMG, one of the main challenges for the private sector is the Euro directives introduced in recent years, which increase business costs. According to him, it is necessary to evaluate the standards introduced in different directions periodically and, if required, revise them.

"The main regulatory environment and business pressure is related to the 40 directives that we have passed into legislation, and the deadlines for their implementation now. Therefore, this is the pressure that the business feels on itself, this is the direct expenditure that comes with this new standard.

Just as before the adoption of the regulation, it is necessary to evaluate it gradually after its adoption. So, we can see the side effects that come with all the regulations. If all this has a worse impact on the business, then it needs to take different measures. We need to see what effect these regulations have on the economy and if there is a way to ease these regulations so that it can be an opportunity to maintain high economic growth", said Levan Vepkhvadze.
