Georgia’s business climate index reached a record 48.4 points in the third quarter of 2026, its highest level since the index was launched in 2019, according to the Georgian Business Association (BAG) and PMC Research Center.
BAG President Soso Pkhakadze said the results reflect positive momentum and growing optimism, particularly in the construction and services sectors. Employment conditions are also improving, with the employment barometer rising to 32.9 points, while 30% of surveyed companies plan to increase salaries in the fourth quarter.
Investment activity remains strong, with 68% of companies planning to increase investment in 2026, mainly in equipment and digital technologies. The share of businesses reporting obstacles to their operations also fell by seven percentage points compared with the previous quarter.
However, shortages of workers and qualified specialists remain a major challenge, particularly in construction. Pkhakadze said continued business optimism and rising investment could help the private sector and government address these challenges and further improve the business environment.
