Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze declares, that the economic growth of Georgia in the coming years will be even higher than that predicted by the International Monetary Fund.
He announced this at the government meeting.
"I would like to respond to the updated forecast of the International Monetary Fund regarding the economy growth. As of the current updated and medium-term forecast, according to which in 2024 Georgia will have the highest economic growth in the wider region and Europe as a whole. Also, in the medium term, in 2024-2029, the country will have the highest economic growth among the similarly wide region and European countries, which is certainly the result of the effective economic policy implemented by our team. I want to thank each of you for this. This year's forecast is 2.5 times higher than the similar indicator of other EU candidate countries.
As for the years 2024-2029, our advantage is 1.6, that is, our forecast is 1.6 times higher than the forecast provided for other candidate countries. Our task is to increase this pace even more. We have always exceeded the forecast presented by the International Monetary Fund. Even now, we are confident that our economic growth will be even higher than that predicted by the International Monetary Fund. We have a written, well-thought-out program for this, according to which the country's economy will exceed 130 billion by 2028. Specific programs and projects are provided for this, and we are sure that we will successfully fulfill this goal", said Irakli Kobakhidze.
