The decision expected on Monday is largely anticipated, with prior information already circulating. The only significant concern is the introduction of visa restrictions on diplomatic passports, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze noted in response to a journalist’s question regarding the European Union Foreign Ministers’ meeting and discussions on sanctions.
Kobakhidze described this measure as extremely unfriendly and anti-Georgian, expressing hope that the views of certain EU politicians and bureaucrats might change.
“The introduction of visa restrictions on diplomatic passports is the sole negative aspect currently under consideration. This is an extremely unfriendly and anti-Georgian step. However, we are hopeful that there will be changes in EU policy, especially after January 20. Let’s remain patient and see what unfolds,” the Prime Minister stated.
