Electricity Market Operator ESCO published a report for 4 months. According to the report, Georgia consumed 5 terawatt hours of electricity, which was 12% more compared to the same period of the previous year.
The document reads, that local electricity generation has increased this year amounted to 4.1 terawatt hours. Of which, hydropower plants generated 2.6 terawatt hours of electricity (up by 62%), while thermal power plants - 1.45 billion terawatt hours (up by 27%). Overall, local production increased by 38% this year.
According to statistics, the volume of electricity consumed by companies, which do not buy electricity directly from Telasi and Energo-Pro is grown as well. There are about 30 such companies today, with a total consumption of 1.3 terawatt hours, which is 41% more than last year.
As for the consumption, Telasi / Telmiko customers (Tbilisi) consumed 960 million kilowatt hours of electricity in the first 4 months of 2022, while customers in other regions (Energo Pro Georgia) consumed 1.2 terawatt hours. Consumption in the Abkhaz region was 1.2 terawatt hours.
