Allergologist-immunologist Bidzina Kulumbegov believes that in order to stop the increase in cases of COVID-infection, the state should ban the entering of tourists from high-risk countries.
Kulubegov declares that the low pace of vaccination is the main problem of the high number of infections. According to Kulumbegov, this is added by the full opening and deregulation of the country.
"Unfortunately, we will not gain anything from this. Tourists should be banned to enter from high-risk countries. Countries require quarantine for returning citizens, so the inflow of tourists will still be reduced. Our northern neighbor is in the list of high-risk countries, but they are coming here with falsified certificates. A very large part of people falsifies PCR certificates for a minimal fee. Perhaps a quarantine regime should be imposed. These types of regulations will be one of the solutions. Medical professionals are at great risk. Unfortunately, some healthcare workers do not realize this risk, so perhaps the country should make a decision and at least introduce mandatory vaccinations among medical staff," he said.
