Olivér Várhelyi, EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement congratulated Irakli Kobakhidze on the appointment of Georgia’s new Prime Minister.
“Congratulations to the newly appointed Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze. 2024 is a crucial year for the country as its people will head to elections. We continue to support Georgia as an EU candidate country on its reform agenda and its economic development,” he tweeted.
Eighty-four legislators backed Irakli Kobakhidze and his new government while ten voted against them in the February 8 vote.
