Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze described the launch of the Trump Tower Tbilisi project as a historic day for Georgia and the development of the capital.
According to Kobakhidze, the Downtown Tbilisi project, with Trump Tower as its main symbol, will involve $2 billion in investment and 600,000 sq. m of modern space. The 280-meter, 62-story tower is expected to create a major economic and tourism attraction in central Tbilisi.
The prime minister said Georgia’s rapid economic growth has created opportunities for projects of a new scale, noting that the country’s economy has grown almost 2.5 times in dollar terms over the past five years. He also highlighted the participation of The Trump Organization and international architecture firm Gensler, saying the project demonstrates the capacity of Georgian businesses and capital to partner with global companies.
Kobakhidze said the project will create thousands of jobs and provide long-term contracts for Georgia’s construction sector. Trump Tower is scheduled for completion in 2031, while the wider district is expected to be completed in 2033. He added that the government would continue supporting large-scale, long-term investment projects.
