Armenia is entering a new phase of cooperation with the European Union. An EU delegation has arrived in Yerevan to develop a negotiation program on visa liberalization, Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan reported.

On November 5-6, a round of discussions on visa liberalization is taking place between Armenia and the European Union. Hovhannisyan announced this during the parliamentary session on the 2025 state budget on November 5.

According to the deputy minister, 2024 has been unprecedented in advancing Armenia-EU partnership. Among the key milestones, he highlighted the ratification of the Armenia-Europol and Armenia-Eurojust agreements. Particularly noteworthy were two decisions made in July: the start of a visa liberalization dialogue and the provision of EU support to Armenia through the European Peace Instrument.

“All these steps will undoubtedly impact planned activities in 2025,” emphasized Hovhannisyan, adding that the development of a new Armenia-EU partnership agenda is currently nearing completion.
