The European Union will provide EUR 38 million in funding for new projects in Georgia in 2026. According to the EU Delegation, the bloc has stopped funding the Georgian government amid democratic backsliding but continues to support the country’s population.
The funding will target economic opportunities in small towns, skills development for a changing labor market, rural and regional development, women’s economic participation, improved market access and food quality, combating violence against women and girls, safe and orderly migration, climate change adaptation, disaster preparedness, and continued support for communities in Abkhazia.
Since 1992, the EU has invested more than EUR 2 billion in Georgia, supporting areas including agriculture, small business development, air quality improvement and modernization of the East-West Highway.
