In the first two quarters of 2025, Georgia received 201,986 visits from European Union countries, marking a 10.2% year-on-year increase, according to data released by the National Tourism Administration. Despite the overall growth, no EU member state ranked among the top ten countries by total number of visits.

Poland led the EU source markets with 33,658 visits, a notable 22% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Germany followed closely with 32,392 visits, showing more modest growth of 4.2%. The United Kingdom, still grouped with EU countries in official Georgian statistics despite Brexit, ranked third with 18,904 visits, a 26% annual increase.

Other EU countries with significant contributions included:

  • Greece: 13,662 visits (+28%)
  • France: 12,885 visits (+8%)

However, the data also highlights a downturn in visits from the Baltic States:

  • Estonia: 3,040 visits (−18.6%)
  • Latvia: 8,046 visits (−13.4%)
  • Lithuania: 8,120 visits (−15.8%)

Overall, international visitor numbers to Georgia reached 2,810,524 in the first six months of 2025, representing a 4.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Of these, 2,270,363 were tourist visits, up 7% year-over-year. Notably, one-day visits declined by 4%, totaling 540,161.

The figures reflect continued interest in Georgia as a travel destination from key European markets, despite shifting trends in some regions.
