EUR 765,750 will be spent on renovation works for the new building of the Georgian Embassy in Budapest, - according to the official website of the State Procurement Agency. As of the announcement, the state acquired the mentioned building in December 2023, however, at this stage, the embassy still operates in rented space.

Furthermore, the Ministry states that Hungary is "the main strategic partner" for the Georgian government in the European Union, therefore a larger office is needed infrastructurally to conduct relations with it.

According to the explanatory note, the new building is located in Budapest's 6th district, which represents the diplomatic area. It is a four-story building constructed in the 19th century, with an area of 1360 square meters and requires both external and internal renovation works.

As of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, due to the infrastructural condition of the building, it is necessary to carry out certain renovation measures on time. These include renewal of drainage and rainwater pipes, modernization of electrical and communication systems, replacement of floors and doors-windows, painting of the facade, and more.
