The unemployment rate in the eurozone was stable at 6.6% in December compared to a month earlier, according to data released by Eurostat on Wednesday.
The figure was 7% in December 2021, Eurostat data showed.
The EU jobless rate was 6.1% in December 2022, also stable compared with a month earlier and down from 6.4% a year ago.
Some 13.2 million people in the EU, including 11.1 million in the euro area, were unemployed in December 2022.
Unemployment rose by 28,000 in the EU and by 23,000 in the euro area from November 2022.
The youth unemployment rate stood at 15.0% in the EU and 14.8% in the euro area, respectively.
