Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili thanked his Hungarian counterpart, Viktor Orban, for his support of Georgia and the aspirations of the Georgian people, who want to become a member of the European family.

"First of all, I have to say how much we value this relationship, how much we value this friendship with Hungary.

Second, I have to say that for me, Prime Minister Orbán is an exemplary leader and a role model politician, and third, I am extremely grateful to Prime Minister Orbán and his Government for the real friendship, my dear friends, and strong support toward Georgia and the Georgian people’s aspirations to become a member of the European family. And I am privileged to raise this glass as the first toast to my dear colleague.

Because this visit, especially at this critical time, is very important for us, for Georgia, for the Georgian people, so that everybody can see who is a real friend, who supports Georgia, and who wants to see Georgia in Europe and with Europe.

So, Prime Minister, thank you very much for your visit. “To Prime Minister Orbán! Thank you!” the Prime Minister said.

The Hungarian PM emphasized his visit highlights valuable relations between Hungary and Georgia. Viktor Orban described the Christian country of Georgia, the Georgian people, the Georgian culture and language as a “miracle” and labelled the meeting as “miraculous.”

“This is a miraculous meeting between the two countries, and I believe it will not only prepare the political foundation for the relations between the two countries but also ensure excellent relations between the two countries at a deeper level,” Viktor Orban said.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, accompanied by a delegation, arrived in Georgia on October 10. The Prime Ministers of Georgia and Hungary will make joint press statements on October 12.
