Starting in 2025, Armenia will significantly increase excise tax rates on strong alcoholic beverages and tobacco products as part of the ongoing harmonization of tax rates within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
According to the Telegram channel "Economy of Armenia," which specializes in economic news, the excise tax on strong alcohol, excluding brandy, will rise from 3,518 drams to 4,872 drams (approximately $12) per liter.
The rates for brandy will remain unchanged, ranging from 3,300 to 24,000 drams per liter of 100% alcohol, depending on the aging period.
Tobacco products will also see a significant increase. The excise tax on cigarettes will rise to 20,532 drams ($53) per 1,000 units, up from the current 17,388 drams. Additionally, the tax on liquids for electronic cigarettes will increase from 70 drams to 93 drams (24 cents) per milliliter.
