Members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Georgia considered 10 agenda items.
Draft Law on the transfer of the Youth Agency from the subordination of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia to the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia was among the topics of discussion. Thus, the new name of the latter will be the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia.
Also, Draft Law initiated by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia was approved at the Executive Government Meeting today. According to the legislative initiative, over 304 hectares of arable land will in total be transferred to 14 lease holders. These land parcels are located in Khoni, Zugdidi, Mtskheta, Dusheti, Khobi, Gardabani, Abasha, Gori, Sighnaghi and Sagarejo Municipalities.
Lease holders have acquired the title ownership on the referred land plots on the grounds of paying 75% of the par value under the State Program on Affordability of Agriculture Land Resources. Total proceeds from the privatization reached 3 085 206 GEL.
Two project proposals on the wind and solar power plants were also among the topics of discussion at the Executive Government Meeting today. Full Due Diligence will be carried out for the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) envisaged in the legislation for the construction of a wind power plant in Shida Kartli with a capacity of 30 megawatts. Investment required for the project exceeds 45 MLN USD.
As for the solar power plant, it will be built in Gori Municipality of Shida Kartli. Capacity of the facility will be 6259 megawatts, while 4.06 MLN USD is required as an investment. Project Agreement will be concluded after the launch of the construction phase.
