According to Geostat, the expenditures during the outbound visits made in III quarter of 2019 equaled to 599.9 million GEL. Average expenditure on the visit amounted to 857.7 GEL.
In the III quarter of 2019 the number of Georgian resident travellers’ trips abroad equaled 1.0 million. Most of the trips, 43.4 percent, were made by travellers of 31-50 age groups.
The number of outbound visits by Georgian visitors from above-mentioned number made up 699.4 thousand.
In the III quarter of 2019 the number of Georgian resident visitors abroad equaled to 526.6 thousand. Georgian visitors made 417.7 thousand tourist-type and 281.8 thousand same-day visits abroad. 61.3 percent of Georgian resident visitors were only tourists4 . The share of excursionists amounted to 33.4 percent, while 5.3 percent of visitors were both tourists and excursionists.
The majority of outbound visitors (43.7 percent) belonged to the age group of 31-50 years. The number of women equaled to 47.0 percent of the total number of visitors.
In III quarter of 2019 the purpose of the majority of outbound visits (34.9 percent) was visiting friends/relatives.
The majority of outbound visits were made in Turkey and Azerbaijan, 350.5 thousand and 122.2 thousand accordingly.
In III quarter of 2019 the average number of nights spent during the outbound visits equaled to 4.5 nights. 95.0 percent of outbound visits was repeating visit.
