External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 11.9 billion in January-August 2022, 36.6% higher year-on-year, - show the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
According to the report, the value of export increased by 36.9% reaching USD 3.571 billion, while the import increased by 36.5% and amounted to USD 8. 364 billion.
The trade deficit equaled USD 4. 793 billion and its share in trade turnover constituted 40.2%.
