Tbilisi (GBC) - In 2023, external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 21, 529 billion, 12.5 % higher year-on-year, the Georgian National Statistic Service (GeoStat) reported.
The exports equalled USD 6, 090 billion (9.1 % higher), while the imports stood at USD 15, 438 billion (14.0 % higher).
The negative trade balance was USD 9,347 billion in 2023 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 43.4 %.
According to Geostat, in 2023, the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 80.3 %. The top partners were Azerbaijan (USD 862.1 million), Armenia (USD 787.1 million) and Kazakhstan (USD 703.0 million).

According to Geostat, in 2023 the share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 70.5 percent. The top partners were Türkiye (USD 2 570.1 million), USA (USD 1 949.3 million) and Russia (USD 1 744.5 million).
